A little story of a true experience during a recent trip to Utah with my daughter Beverly - - it was 8 days inclusive with the occurance happening after 6 days - - - -

 

My first ride in the First Class Section of an Airline

Sit we do in A and B
on Northwest set to fly
Awed with all the splendor
My Beverly and I
 
In First class seats
with sheer delight
Hearts pounding heavy
Ready for flight
 
Just sit back and listen
My story I'll relate
Westward Ho we travel
out in Utah state
 
What a great vacation
A Heaven here on earth
all those mountain majesties
beauty right from birth
 
Canyonland and Arches
Monument Valley too
Needles soaring skyward
All a Godly view
 
A little town named Moab
our home while in the west
A place that we came back to
to get our needed rest
 
Anyhoo - the story
of our upgrade on the plane
Right toe red and swollen
on Thursday hellish pain
 
Called home to my Doctor
"I need help" I shout
Doc sent out the medicine
to help control - "THE GOUT"
 
Friday did no walking
couldn't - foot too sore
I could only lay in bed
While Bev went to the store
 
Saturday we packed and left
drove to Salt Lake City
Wheelchaired at the airport
Where everyone took pity
 
Bev asked for better seating
"First Class" I shout and cry
Bless the heart of the attendant
Said - "First class you will fly"
 
No extra charge was entered
no box lunch would we buy
A meal with plates and glasses
With wine - just thought we'd die
 
So there you are - the story
an adventure - yes a dream
Heartfelt, loving memories
with pain so bad I'd scream
 
Thank you darling Beverly
For what you've done for Dad
Memories you have given
through the travels we have had
