The Little Old Golfer

Got up early that fine day
Ten or Eleven - I'd have to say
Course was close - not far away
Just couldn't wait - I was ready to play

I put my ball on planted tee
Waggled slowly and bent my knee
Took my club back gent-a-ly
would fly that ball - just wait and see

Everything was ready - club was underway
Real anticipation at what I'd do this day
Kept eye on ball as I took time to pray
But the ball on tee - would forever stay

   "I WIFFED"

Don't ya just love it?

My Friend I got a story
It's a hooter let me say
Just had me an experience
"A really Bad Hair Day"

My handle in the old home town
was Beautiful Joe - "The Hair"
Flowing locks that felt like silk
and I treated them with care

Stroll I did to the Barber shop
to get a wash and trim
I got assigned a barber
Whose name was "Tiny Tim"

I sat down with a smile
Happiness filled my heart
All was seemingly perfect
Till "Tiny" got his start

He had to step on tip-toes
to reach my head of hair
Clippin' up and clippin' down
I looked - my head was bare

Now you've heard my story
I've told you every bit
That is why you see me
In a hat that doesn't fit
