Last week we took a little ride
My Mommy, Dad and me
Just going no where special
All backroads we would see

My eyes grew big as saucers
at all the country charm
Especially when we spotted
that big old "horsey" farm

The man came out to greet us
Asked us in to look
I never saw a horse up close
Just pictures in a book

He looked at me and smiled
Said - "How'd you like to ride?"
How excited I became
The thrill I could not hide

That day will live forever
that day I nearly cried
Because it was so special
My first real "Pony" ride

Grandpas are such wise old men
With a sparkle in their eye
Never really act their age
So gentle and yes so spry

The Lord did good with Grandpas
Gave them lots of love and smarts
Built us a treasure of happiness
and gave us Grandpas for our hearts

The same thing goes for Grandmas
So wise and loving too
Can push that happy button
and make your dreams come true

Always has that "great big hug"
and a way to soothe the heart
And knows what's best for everyone
right from the very start

So savor all the lovin'
that you get from them each day
and let the memories fill your heart
With Grandpa and Grandma's Way

Special Stories for the Young

A little cloud called "Fluffy"
came floating by one day
Smiling Oh-so happily
as he went along his way

Looking down on things below
he noticed something wrong
A garden filled with Pansies
weak - no longer strong

 They had no happy faces
they stood in soil dry
they needed water badly
water from the sky

 "Fluffy" saw their problem
and sadness filled his heart
He felt so very, very bad
it made the teardrops start

The tears fell very gently
on those Pansies in a row
Their eyes began to sparkle
and smiles began to show

   "Fluffy" watched with happiness
knowing all was right
Knowing that his sadness tears
Had made those Pansies bright

They nodded up to "Fluffy"
waving heads from side to side
Knowing they would not forget
"THE LITTLE CLOUD THAT CRIED"

The sun was bright and warming
when we got into the car
Heading for that little brook
That wasn't very far

I found myself a little branch
my fishing pole to be
And Daddy had a piece of string
My fishing line - you see

 I saw those fishes swimming
smiling up as they went by
I couldn't count how many
A zillion - Me-Oh-My

The fish and I are friendly
we all enjoy the brook
They know I'd never hurt them
Cause I never use a hook

 I love those days together
with My Daddy and my fish
And I hope they last forever
I Wish - I Wish - I Wish

I Love To Watch The Kittens Play

I love to watch the Kittens
as they play upon the floor
Never seem to tire out
just keep on doing more

They play with Mama's ball of yarn
a misplaced sock or two
Could be one of my old toys
or a slipper or a shoe

    Rolling over on their back
their legs all stretched and tall
They nearly spin the cover off
that little bouncing ball

They have a funny little pounce
a jump to catch their prey
Sometimes they just hide and wait
at least that is what they say

 I love those little kitty-cats
so soft and warm with fur
And when you stroke them gently
they close their eyes and purr

So if you want a lot of fun
just watch the kittens play
They'll make you grin and smile
And they'll do it every day
